Technology
The biggest visual changes you'll see on the 2020 Legacy take place once you open up the car doors to head out from your Davis or Vacaville home. While the midsize sedan always had a handsome interior that stood out in the class, it's now set to blow the competition away. The cabin in covered in a lot of soft-touch materials, and instead of an optional 8-inch touchscreen, buyers and lessees can get an optional 11.6-inch one that's oriented in a vertical, tablet-like position. It really gives the cabin an upscale vibe.
Performance
Subaru engineers played around with the 2020 Subaru Legacy's powertrain lineup. The base 2.5L engine is still standard, but it has improved specs. Before, you got 175 horsepower and 174 lb-ft torque. Now the Legacy's 2.5L offers up 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft torque. Subaru retired the 3.6L for the 2020 model year, but have no fear. Taking its place is a more powerful 2.4L turbocharged engine. It'll produce 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft torque, and that's a significant upgrade from the 256 horsepower/247 lb-ft torque on the 3.6L. Basically, you'll have way more fun zipping around Vacaville.
Looks
Subaru isn't known for having massive style redesigns from generation to generation. Instead, they prefer a slow evolution, though there are some subtle updates for the 2020 Legacy. The taillights are a little sharper and the front-grille received a light refresh. Again, most aesthetic differences take place inside the cabin.
